if the details of potty training disgust you, skip to the last paragraph

I've been potty training Julianna since Sunday. I've almost given up everyday since. However, I don't want to confuse the poor girl or take steps back...so we just keep trucking. It's been hard for her because she knows she when she needs to go to the bathroom but it seems like she just can't get everything going at the right time. She'll sit for a few minutes and then leave; come back again and sit for a few minutes and then leave. Then after doing that scenario several times...she pottys all over the floor.

Despite our troubles, I have stuck with it. This morning I was rewarded. She woke up and told me she needed to go, sat and went. Easy peasy. Then later in the morning she did the same thing for number two. YAY!! We're getting it! In fact, her only accident today came during a playdate we were hosting. I'm going to blame that accident on the fact that there were tons of extra people and distractions. I don't think she wanted to take the time to sit on the toilet or bring any attention to herself to say she needed to go.

Then during lunch today she said that she needed to go. Usually, like I said, we sit and get up several times before she goes. Not this time. She stuck with it and made her body do its business. Finally!! I really think this is it. :) My last baby is almost diaper-free. I don't want to think about what that means to me.

Okay, so the main reason I told you this whole story is because I wanted to share this little tidbit. You needed to know how hard we had worked to make this pottying in the toilet thing happen. So, today, that last time she went potty and poop in the toilet; she stood up and turned around to examine her handiwork. She became totally disgusted - horrified, really. She then physically shuddered and then the look that came over her face was priceless. I swear she looked like I'd made her suck on a lemon. It was quite possibly the funniest thing I've seen in quite sometime.
