Do you remember playing the game "Slug Bug!" when you were young? The object of the game was to spot a Volkswagen Beetle, call out the color and "slug" the person sitting next to you. Fun game, if you have the eyesight for it. Which I didn't. It's also fun for people with good observation skills. Which again, I do not have. But, anyway, a game many people have played.
My children excluded. They have no idea about this game and I wouldn't have ever thought to teach it to them.
However, my children are inquisitive. They want to know everything about all things. And I do my best to teach them and answer their questions. When I don't know the answer, we Google it or ask Tom (my own personal Google).
Well, over a year ago my children learned all about the sewer trucks. I knew nothing about these trucks. I didn't even know of their existence until my children started asking about them. Tom explained their purpose in simple terms. Telling the children that they were trucks that helped to clean the pipes under ground. The ones that our toilets flush into. And, yes, the pipes have poop in them. And this is why my children refer to these vehicles as: Poop Trucks.
Now, imagine a regular day with a van full of my children. Now imagine, out of nowhere, Lily yells, "POOP TRUCK!" Just like one would yell out "SLUG BUG! YELLOW!"
No family-friendly car games for us! As always, Lily adds a little spice to the usual.
