A bath, and a bath, and a bath....

I was helping Drew get ready for bed by untying his very well tied shoes. He was smelling sort of ripe so we had this conversation:

Me: Drew, you will need to take a bath in the morning. You are getting kind of stinky.

Drew: Ugh. I just took one, like, last week!

Me: You took one yesterday so tomorrow it's time for another.

Drew: Ugh. I hate baths. It's like I have to take them and take them. I take a bath, and a bath, and a bath, and a bath.

Me: Well, we've got to stay clean and smelling fresh. Also, I cannot get this shoe untied. I give up!

Drew: I'm a kid! I'm allowed to give up. Big people aren't allowed to give up. Just tell yourself you can do it and then you will be able to do it.

Me: I may not be allowed to give up, but I can call in someone who is better at this than I am. TOOOOM!

Drew: (laughing) You can't do that! Just tell yourself you can do it!

Me: Done! I did it! Thanks for your encouragement. I couldn't have done it without you.
