We had a nearly perfect summer day today. It was our first day of Stivers Summer Camp with a Make It Monday. To honor the day each child got to make their own garden in a flower pot and then we made a lemon cake and ate it with fresh strawberries and cool whip. The kids had an hour long water fight with the neighbors and we capped the day off with burgers on the grill.
I'm drawn to the blog today because I must share a conversation I had with Drew. This is how it went.
Drew: May I have more beans, please?
Me: Sure.
Drew: Why'd you give me so many beans?
Me: I don't know. You don't have to eat them all - just eat what you want.
Drew: I might eat about half. I am a bean-lover.
Me: *bursts out laughing*
Drew: Why are you laughing?
Me: Oh, Dad just made a funny face. It struck me funny.
BEAN LOVER?!! Hahahahaha
So, just as I was blogging this post, Drew interrupted to try and exert his power and tell me that he wasn't taking a bath tonight. I obviously won the battle....but not before we had this exchange:
Drew: I don't like baths.
Me: Then take a shower.
Drew: No. I don't like anything where I have to clean myself.
Oh, Drew. How I love you.
