Let me set the scene. The kids and I had just gotten home after a long day. I was making macaroni and cheese for dinner even though all I really wanted to do was pass out on the couch. Drew had been whining since who knows when for a drink. He'd gotten one, don't worry. However, he needed something to whine about so he just kept asking for more drinks. Since I was making dinner I told him he'd have to wait for dinner to have another drink. This is how it went from there.
Drew: Mooooommm!! I want a drinnnnnk.
Mom: Drew, I'm out of patience. I'm done.
Drew: Oh, I didn't know you were out of patience. Okay.
Mom: Oh yeah? You didn't know?
Drew: That means don't talk. No more talking.
Mom:Yup.
Drew: You're not very good at it.
Mom: I'm not very good at what?
Drew: Making macaroni and cheese.
Mom: Hm.
Let me just say that this conversation made me laugh and brought me patience. Funny how that works sometimes.
