A firehouse tradition

For a few years now, the kids and I have been attending a Parents As Teachers event where you get a special tour of the local (and very historic) firehouse. It's one of our favorite PAT events and we will be sad when Julianna ages out of this  program!

Drew is always very concerned about leaving one of his sisters behind somewhere. Here he is trying to get Julianna to stay with the tour group. We were in the upstairs of the firehouse seeing where the firefighters sleep.

Julianna wasn't sure what to think of it all. She used this opportunity to test her independence. She kept wandering off from the group and was refusing to just let me hold her. I love this stage! No, seriously, I do. Maybe with Lily I was frustrated more often with toddler behavior because I wasn't sure what to expect and what to let Lily get away with. But, now that I have experience with these things, it just cracks me up when Julianna tries to be all toddlerrific! Anyway, back to the tour- You can see in the background of this picture that the firefighters were giving us tons of information about what equipment they carry on the truck. This year's tour was the best one yet. We actually learned lots of new stuff!

I just thought this picture was cool because of the reflection. If I'd had more time and space I would have taken a ton more from this angle to get a good one.

Obviously I'm not a photographer, but we did have a good time at the firehouse. The kids got to sit inside the truck and Drew told them he wanted to be a firefighter when he grew up. :) So cute!

Very cool reflection picture. I thought at first that they were inside peering out. Love the jelly bean background!
