Minor disaster

I was just scrubbing out the bathtub awhile ago. I was wondering to myself why no one ever blogs about doing the chores. Why doesn't anyone blog about the time that the scrubbed out the bathtub, just to stick their dirty stinky kids in it? Obviously, people don't blog about it because it's not really interesting. People don't like scrubbing anything and so they certainly don't like reading about it. But, anyway....

I was cleaning the bathroom today. I had just finished scrubbing out the tub and I was running water in it so I could stick the dirty kids in...I called for Drew to come in and get his clothes off. I saw Julianna doing her usual, reaching desperately for the water that was filling the tub. I told her (while I moved her) that she was going to fall in one of these days. Then, as Drew continued to strip down, I turned to wipe down the sink. During those few seconds our whole evening changed in an instant. Julianna moved back to the tub and reached for the water and fell head first into the tub. Without thinking (because who's thinking when their baby has gone face first into the full bathtub) I grabbed her. Luckily, she hadn't even taken a breath by the time I got to her, so she didn't even cough or choke. She was just soaking wet. HOWEVER, when I had turned around to grab her, I stepped on Drew's glasses. Smashed them. Knocked the lens out and squashed the frame. So, in order to save one child's life, I have rendered the other blind. :) I'm just grateful everyone is safe and we can go get a new pair of glasses tomorrow.

I hope everyone had a Happy Easter. We spent the weekend at my grandparents farm. It was a full and fun weekend. The children are lucky that I managed to grab a nap on the way home or else Mommy would probably be having some sort of mental meltdown over the bathtub/glasses incident. Did I mention that Tom had to work tonight?

oh my goodness! isn't it amazing how we go into "save" mode when it comes to our kids and disasters?? Julianna was probably fine with the whole thing but i bet when you calmed down you were terrified! glad everyone was ok! hugs!
